About the Author
Thomas Keating is the founder of the Centering Prayer movement and a member of the Cistercian Order in the Benedictine tradition who has served at monasteries in Colorado and Massachusetts. He is the author of numerous books, including Awakenings, The Heart of the World, Intimacy with God, and Journey to the Center. He lives at St. Benedict's Monastery in Snowmass, Colorado.

Excellent reflections on the parables of Jesus

Thomas Keating is known for teaching Centering Prayer. He is a modern day mystic bringing his gifts of spiritual insight to the parables. It is an easy read for my adult bible study and his observations resonate well with them.I looked at several texts on the parables and found this one to be a treasure. His examples are wonderful, often referring to movies to show a kind of modern day example of Jesus' parables. I highly recommend this book. I also plan to use in a sermon series on the parables.

Good for a Group

I used this with a small group. Although it doesn't have any bells and whistles such as DVD or study guide, my group loved it and grew from the insights of Thomas Keating. We particularly enjoyed the several different reflections on the same parable
