Great Text

I bought this book as it was required for my master's degree Intro to Geochemistry course. That being said, this book is well-written and is straight-forward to understand (my background is chemistry and I could follow the geology-oriented sections well). The figures in the text are excellent, clear to understand, and descriptive. I've read many textbooks that have horrible and confusing figures; this book is not one of them. The only downside is I am a visual person and all figures/photos are in black and white. I solved this dilemma by "googling" specific rocks or topics to gain color photos available on the internet. Lastly, this author uses in-text references a lot, which may be distracting for some, but I found to be helpful if you wanted to learn more about a specific topic without using the index. Overall an excellent text!
